What does the Motor policy cover?
- Own Damage to your vehicle - The policy covers you against any loss or damage caused to your car or it's accessories due to natural and man made calamities as defined in the scope of coverage
- Personal Accident Cover - The motor insurance provides you personal accident cover for individual owners of the vehicle, the personal accident cover is up to RO 10,000
- Third Party legal liability - The policy covers the vehicle owner's legal liability to pay compensation for:
Death or bodily injury to a third party person.
Damage to third party property.
- Liability is as per Sharia Law in respect of death or injury and up to RO 75,000 in respect damage to third party property.
What is the scope of a Motor Policy?
The insurance will protect the customer against any loss or damage to the vehicle and its accessories whilst thereon for the following events:
- Fortuitous accident, collision or overturning
- Fire, external explosion, self-ignition or lightning
- Flood, storm, tempest and cyclone
- Burglary or theft
- Malicious act by any third party
What are the exclusions under Motor Policy?
- Consequential loss suffered by the Insured or decrease in the value of the vehicle due to usage, wear and tear, obsolescence or any failure, defect or mechanical or electrical breakdown, failure or breakage.
- Damage to the vehicle as a result of overloading or carrying passengers in excess of the licensed number of seats provided
- Damage to tyres unless the vehicle is damaged at the same time.
- Loss or damage sustained by the vehicle due to accidents resulting from:
The driver of the vehicle being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The use of the vehicle for purposes other than those specified in this Policy.
Driving the vehicle by a person who is not legally authorized to drive.
What will happen to my policy if I sell my vehicle?
If you sell the vehicle to another person, the Insurance can be transferred in the name of the buyer. The buyer (transferee) has to apply for transfer of Insurance with us, within 14 days from the date of transfer of the vehicle in his name.
What is an endorsement?
An endorsement is a document that incorporates changes in the terms of the policy. If there are any alterations to be done in the policy the customer needs to approach Insurance company to effect the change in the policy. This is done by way of an endorsement. An endorsement may also be issued subsequently to record changes such as change of address, change of name, change of vehicle etc.
Health Insurance
What does the policy cover?
The policy covers hospitalization expenses incurred as a result of an illness/ disease or injury. These expenses include room and boarding expenses, Ambulance charges, Surgeon's, Anesthetist's, Specialist's fee, Operation Theatre charges, Drugs and medicines, Diagnostics etc. Pre and post hospitalization expenses are also covered.
Who is eligible to take the cover?
An individual, his / her spouse up to the age of 65 years and their dependent children. Groups of employees, their spouse up to the age of 65 years and their dependent children.
What is not covered in the policy?
In addition to other specific exclusions, policy does not cover -
- Persons below 14 days and above 65 years
- Illnesses pre- existing at the time of taking the cover.
- Expenses directly or indirectly resulting from or consequent to congenital defects/ deformities.
- Dental treatment unless arising from disease or injury and necessitating hospitalization.
- Surgery for correction of eye sight and related expenses.
What do you mean by pre and post hospitalization cover?
Pre and post hospitalization expenses mean relevant medical expenses up to 30 days prior to hospitalisation and 30 days after discharge from hospital.
Are there any options?
You have the option to select any or all of the following options along with the basic hospitalization cover - Out-patient cover for a maximum sum insured of RO 750/- which takes care of expenses towards consultations, lab tests, diagnostics etc. Personal Accident Cover of RO 3000/- in case of accidental death of an insured.
I am traveling frequently, which countries can I opt to take the cover for?
In addition to Oman, you have a choice to opt for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Philippines, GCC, UK and Hong Kong under 3 different schemes.
What are the medical check-ups that I need to undergo to take the policy?
For all persons above the age of 40 years, a medical check-up is required. An ECG (print out with report), Fasting Blood Sugar, Post Blood Sugar and Urine Sugar reports are to be submitted for taking the cover.
Does the policy cover treatments other than Allopathic?
No, the policy provides for Allopathic treatment cover only.
Whom do I approach in case I require a treatment?
In case of an emergency or planned hospitalization, it is required that our TPA be contacted on the Helpline number provided on the reverse of the Insurance Card. The TPA shall provide all relevant details regarding the coverage, the nearest hospitals available and will also pre - authorize the hospital in case it is their network hospital.
If I go to a hospital/ clinic of my choice, who pays the bill?
In case an in-patient, out-patient treatment is taken in a network hospital or clinic, i.e. a hospital having tie-up arrangement with our TPA, no payment is required to be made by the insured person. He gets cash-less service and 100% payment is available to him subject to conditions.
However, if the hospital chosen is a non net work hospital, the insured needs to pay his bills to the hospital and send all relevant documents along with claim form for reimbursement to the Insurance Company. Payment in this case would be restricted to 90% of the eligible amount.

What is a Health Card?
A health card is a card that comes along with the Policy. It is similar to an Identity card. This card would entitle you to avail cashless hospitalisation facility at any of our network hospitals.

A health card mentions the contact details and the contact numbers of the TPA. In case of a medical emergency, you can call on these numbers for queries, clarifications and for seeking any kind of assistance. Moreover, you need to display your health card at the time of admission into the hospital.

House holders' Insurance covers natural and man-made calamities.

How can I assess the value of my home structure and its contents?
The value of your home structure is assessed as per the area of your home multiplied by the rate of construction per. sq. feet, as on the date of taking the policy. For example, if your home is 1000 sq. feet and the construction rate per sq. feet is RO. 80/-, then the sum insured for your home's building structure is RO. 80,000.
On the other hand, the contents are assessed on the market value of the items. This means that if there were a loss, the claim would be paid on the value of purchasing a similar new item, less depreciation for the usage.
I live in a rented house, do I require insurance?

What are the exclusions of this policy?
The company is not liable to make payment for:
- Any loss or damage by the insured and / or insured's domestic staff direct or indirect involvement in an attempted burglary.
- Any loss or damage on account of loss of livestock, motor vehicles, money, securities for money, stamp, bullion, deeds, bonds, bills of exchange, promissory notes, stock or share certificates, business books, manuscripts, documents of any kinds, ATM debit or credit cards, unless previously specifically declared by the company.
- Any loss or damage occurring while insured's home is unoccupied, for a period of more than 30 days consecutively and if the insured failed to inform the company about the same.
What if I sell the property during the insured period?
You can cancel the policy and get the premium back on pro-rata basis.

TPA stands for Third Party Administrator. The most essential service they provide is cashless medical services. They also provide the necessary information to deal with any problem regarding claims.
In case medical treatment is required, is there any need for any pre-approval before hospitalization?
You would need to contact our third party administrator at and they would arrange for the cashless claims for the medical treatment.
If pre-approval is required then what are the procedures?
