1. Compulsory Insurance - Covers loss of life or bodily injury to Third Party and damage to their property
   
   
2. Compulsory Insurance with PA – In addition to 1 above, covers loss of life or bodily injury to the driver and passengers of the insured vehicle
   
   
3. Compulsory Insurance with natural calamities – In addition to 1 above, covers damage to insured vehicle against Storm, Tempest, Flood & Cyclone
   
   
4. Compulsory Insurance with PA & natural calamities – Covers 1, 2 and 3 above
   
   
5. Compulsory Insurance with Fire, Theft, Burglary & Malicious damage – In addition to 1 above, covers insured vehicle against fire, theft, burglary and malicious damage only when the vehicle is not being used while the insured is on travel.
   
   
6. Comprehensive Insurance – Covers all of the above as well as damage to insured vehicle due to accident, collision, overturning etc.

• Storm, Tempest, Flood & Earthquake (unless opted for)
  
• Damage to tyres unless the vehicle is damaged at the same time
  
• Accidental damage to vehicle due to drunken driving

• Goods/ items loaded in/ on the insured vehicle.

With effect from June 1, 2007, the Royal Oman Police (ROP), have implemented the procedures of a new system in case of minor road traffic accidents.

The system is aimed at lessening traffic jams and ensuring smooth flow of traffic when two or more vehicles are involved in a minor accident. It also aspires to check further mishaps occurring due to these minor accidents and to help save the time of the road users.

A Minor Accident is one that involves no deaths, physical injuries or damage to public and private property other than the vehicles involved. The vehicles that meet with a minor accident, requires to be pulled off the road immediately and referred to their respective insurance companies with out the need for procedures at police station.

The new system applies to all types of commercial and private vehicles as well as Government and diplomatic corporation vehicles.
